Feb. 3 will be a special day at the state capitol building in Frankfort as citizens opposed to abortion make their voices heard in special events at the state Capitol Building.

Up first at 10 a.m. will be a rally on the Capitol Building steps featuring Kentucky women who regret their abortions and believe they did not receive adequate medical information beforehand. These women have joined the Silent No More Awareness Campaign to educate lawmakers and the public on the aftermath of abortion and unethical abortion clinic practices.

Following at 11 a.m. in the rotunda will be the annual Rally for Life. Scheduled speakers include: Bishop Ronald W. Gainer of Lexington; T. Patrick Monaghan, president of Kentucky Right to Life; Kent Ostrander, executive director of The Family Foundation; Kathy Rutledge with Silent No More & Operation Outcry; and Shari Richard, an obstetrical ultrasound educator from Michigan. Several legislators will also be on hand to speak.

All speakers will be encouraging support for Senate Bill 9, the Ultrasound Informed Consent Bill, which would require abortion providers to give a woman face-to-face counseling and the opportunity to view ultrasound images of her unborn child at least 24 hours prior to performing the procedure.

This bill has already passed the state Senate but faces an uncertain future in the House of Representatives where pro-abortion legislators in leadership positions control the agenda. The bill could be expected to pass if it were ever given a fair hearing on the House floor.

Please consider attending . . . and invite your friends.
