National Campaign Focuses on Porn’s Harm

Porn Harms graphic -- "I am trafficked"Pornography is one of the most serious problems facing American families today as well as one of the most ignored problems by churches. Its disastrous impact is leaving a trail of destroyed lives and the latest statistics reveal that the problem is only escalating.

To counter this assault, the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission is partnering with the Coalition for the War on Illegal Pornography to launch the Be Aware: Porn Harms National Awareness Campaign. The initiative, which runs through Aug. 7, emphasizes the truth that porn is not a victimless indulgence.

The campaign highlights four harmful consequences of pornography: addiction, harm to children, violence against women, and sexual trafficking. Helpful information and resources for churches are available at the campaign website: www.pornharms.com/beaware.

The Body of Christ must oppose pornography as the serious threat that it is. Only then will we chart a course toward cleansing our families and ultimately our society of the debilitating and destructive plague of pornography.
