Christian involvement in public issues does not have to be limited to reading about them. The following are just a few ideas for how you can be involved:
- Pray – Take your concerns to the Lord daily. Subscribe to e-mail updates from this Web site and use the information you receive to help inform your prayers. Ask for His guidance about how you should respond to public issues. Add items to your church’s prayer list as well.
- Vote – Be an informed voter and make sure you get to the polls each time there is an election. Find information about voting and voter registration in Kentucky at: http://elect.ky.gov/
- Call, Write and E-mail Public Officials – Communicating with public officials about issues of interest is an extremely valuable way to be involved. Officials need to know how their constituents feel so take time to make contacts on the local, state and national levels.
- On a state level in Kentucky, you can easily contact your legislators by calling the legislative message line at 1-800-372-7181 and leaving a message. If you don’t know who your legislators are, the receptionist who answers will be glad to tell you. The process will only take five minutes or less. You can also send letters or e-mail to your legislators if you prefer.
